Your Chance to Make a Difference Right Here in Our Community

As a volunteer with Polson Loaves and Fish Pantry, you make a difference right here in the greater Polson area. You’ll work hands-on, supporting some of the most vulnerable and deserving people. Our volunteer opportunities let you see the difference you make every single day.

why get involved?

Volunteering with the Polson Loaves and Fish Pantry lets you connect to your community in a different way.

Meet new people from different backgrounds that you wouldn’t normally cross paths with, simply because you share a common bond. All our volunteers want to make this community stronger and turn it into a better place.

It’s easy to overlook how important even a small amount of help is to those in need. When it comes to food and ensuring our residents have enough to feed themselves or their families, it’s easy to see just how important volunteering is. By supporting some of our more vulnerable residents, you help raise up all of us.

Volunteering can have a deep impact on your own physical and mental health. Seeing the impact your volunteer work is making to individuals and the entire community can be a humbling and uplifting experience.

Joining our team of volunteers can help you advance your career and make a difference in college applications. Why? Volunteering allows you to develop new skills in a fun, supportive environment. At the Polson Loaves and Fish Pantry, we’re always balancing food donations with demand, so volunteers can develop their organizational skills and logistical thinking.

Working directly with people, some of which are in difficult life situations, sharpens your communication skills, too. You’ll learn to understand and assess individual circumstances, as well as master advocacy skills. As a result, many volunteers feel more self-confident which shows in their personal and professional lives outside of volunteering.

Volunteering with us is flexible. We deeply appreciate you giving your time and expertise to support our clients. With family and other commitments of your own, you may not be able to donate the same number of hours every week. But believe us when we say: every hour helps, and we’re more than happy to accommodate volunteer opportunities to busy schedules.

Volunteering is fun. Granted, food insecurity and ending hunger in our community are serious issues, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy your work. Joining our team of volunteers means you get a chance to brighten up the lives of many, every time you work with us.
